Cocktail Meatballs

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/3 cup finely chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 (10.75 ounce) can Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
Dash hot pepper sauce

Method:

Mix thoroughly beef, egg, bread crumbs and salt; shape into 50 small 1/2 inch meatballs. Arrange in shallow baking pan, 12x8x2 inches. Broil 4 inches from heat until browned; turn once. Pour off fat. Meanwhile in saucepan, cook onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Add meatballs and remaining ingredients. Cover; cook over low heat 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Makes about 3 1/2 cups
