Cranberry Bread

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons shortening
grated peel & juice of 1 orange--add enough water to make 3/4 cup
1 cup raw cranberries, cut in halves
1 egg, beaten

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine dry ingredients . Mix in shortening &
egg. Add 3/4 orange peel, orange juice & water mixture. Fold in halved cranberries. Pour into 9 by 5 by 3 inch greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour. Cool before slicing
