Gingersnaps

Ingredients:

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 teaspoons soda
2 � cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

Method:

Soften margarine. Add sugar, molasses and egg; beat well. Sift flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and
salt. Add to first mixture. Mix well; chill (not necessary). Form into 1-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar, and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches
apart. Bake in 375 -degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.
