Home Made Yogurt

Contributed By: Happy Wanderer

Ingredients:

2 Qts of three percent or richer fresh milk.
A quarter of a cup of plain yogurt.
One electric heating pad.
One clean bath towel.
One large porcelain bowl.

Method:

Allow the milk to rise to room temperature and pour it into the bowl.
Add the yogurt to the milk and mix with a few stirs.
Cover the bowl with the towel and place the bowl onto the heating pad.
Set the temperature to medium.
Usually, it takes between eight and ten hours for the milk to ferment into yogurt. I start the process just before going to bed and to allow the process
to occur over night.
When the yogurt forms, place it into plastic containers and refrigerate. It will keep for ten days or so. Save a small quantity to serve as the starter
for the next batch.
