Island Butterscotch Bars

1/2 Cup Butter
2 Cups Brown Sugar, packed
2 Large Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 Cups Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 Cup Coconut, shredded
1 Cup Walnuts, chopped


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Stir together flour and baking powder, and the 1/4 tsp salt. Add to brown sugar mixture with coconut and nuts; mix well. Spread in greased 9by 13inch baking pan. Bake for about 30minutes. Cut into bars while warm; remove from pan when cool.
