Royal Icing

Ingredients:

1 lb. confectioners sugar
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Method:

Beat egg whites until stiff. Add other ingredients and beat at highest speed
for several minutes. Fill cake decorator/pastry bag. Keep the rest tightly
covered in refrigerator. This hardens very fast... When using it, wrap the decorator tip in a moist paper towel whenever you lay it down, even for just a few minutes.

Helpful Hints:

This is for decorating and it's meant to harden. Use it to decorate cookies,
like
ginger bread people or to write names on chocolate eggs for Easter Baskets!
