Simple Sour Cream Cornbread

Ingredients:

3/4 cup yellow or white cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method:

Mix all ingredients, just enough to blend well. Pour into a greased 8 inch
square pan. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes. Serve piping hot with
butter, jelly, jam or maple syrup.

Helpful Hints:

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
