Tomato Chowder

1 onion, chopped
3 cups diced tomatoes, fresh or canned
¾ tsp. thyme
3 tblsp. butter
3 tblsp. flour
4 cups milk
chives & croutons


In a soup pot, sauté the onions in butter until soft. Add tomatoes and sauté for about 8 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened about 30 minutes.
Serve sprinkled with chives and croutons..
